....and Kurtis Calls Me As He Promised!....

I was so totally taken by surprise when ex-Elder Skidmore (yellow shirt on the right of me) called me tonight and wanted to talk......I never imagined that he would keep his word and call me when he has only been home one day! I was NOT impressed, but speechless because so many missionaries tell me they will keep n touch, but once they are home-it is another story! So I thank Heavenly Father for allowing me to meet Kurtis Skidmore and placing him in my life as a friend who can prove themselves worthy of my friendship! I love that!

P.S. The other guy on the left of me is my friend too, Austen and he is getting hitched on May 30th!! Go Austen!!

My Interview @ The Roosevelt Hotel Today...

I went there to sell myself and dress to impress for sure! There were people there who TOTALLY ignored the dress code that they were asking for. The first lady that pre-screened me said that I was charming and I said all the right things and was very impressed with me when I talked to her about up selling and generating revenue for the hotel. The final and second interview that I had with Katie went ok. It was kind of awkward because I did not want to say the wrong thing or look nervous, but it could not be helped at all. I was nervous. Very nervous! But I was myself and I answered all of her questions as best as I could and even Ms. Anita-the lady who I had been talking to for months now put a post-it sticker on my file and it read that I have been calling every week about the job at the hotel, and I am very enthusiastic, etc. Maybe all that will help me to get the position and I really do want it badly!!

Adios to ex-Elder Kurtis Skidmore!!

Elder Skidmore (to the left of me in gray jacket) drove down from Houma, Louisiana to the Westbank to see me and a few other people when he served his mission here a few months ago and on Thursday-he goes back home to Mudlake, Idaho. As soon as I saw him, I wanted to go up to him and hug him tight, but he had a cast on his right arm, so I had to be gentle! I signed his cast too BTW!

We talked and caught up and talked about the good old days and he said that he wanted to take a ride in my car for old times sake, just one more time so we just drove around and had fun. I showed him my pictures from when I went to The Big Apple this January and he loved the pics. At 4:30ish-I had to leave him and go get my haircut because tomorrow I have an job interview and I wanted to look very professional and my absolute best!

When I was done, I met up with hm and a few other Elders at Wendy's and got some grub and talked there for about 20 minutes then we headed back to the Church and then he went on his own to see a family he worked with then I went someplace for an hour then we met back up at the Church and then I drove him to the Nike Factory Store and it was closed so then I drove him Downtown New Orleans and showed him the Hotel I could b working at if I get the job and we stopped by the Superdome and took pics and listened to music the entire time! It was so great! I will reflect on today for the rest of my life! I had a good time with him and I will miss him!

Renovation & History of The Significant Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans: MY JOB?!?! Will Find Out Tuesday, May 13th, 2009!!

I am so excited to be honored enough to just get an interview with this hotel! I cannot stop thinking abut what an honor it will be to work at the same hotel that serves the guests of New Orleans. This hotel is just the classiest and elegant hotel I have ever seen or heard about. I had NO idea how significant this hotel is and to be a part of the famous Waldorf-Astoria Collection just makes the legend of this place grow. They have been renovating this hotel for the last few years and I cannot wait to WALK in there if I get the position. I am speechless just looking at the pics! Imagine how I will be to go in there and work for a hotel that has so much history! AWESOME history!
The Roosevelt Hotel is restoring the entire hotel since it has been closed due to Hurricane Katrina.

Few More Days Til My Interview!

I simply cannot stop driving by The Roosevelt Hotel and just daydreaming about me actually working there! I have been looking, and re-looking, and re-looking at the website and trying to memorize facts/statistics about the hotel so that I can impress the management team next Wednesday when I go in for my interview! I will just b so glad when May 13th gets here so I can stop thinking about it! I just want to know that the job is going to be mine! I cannot stop thinking about it-no matter what I do-I THINK about it! It is killing me all this waiting!

Rest In Peace Brandon Kling!! My Friend!

I JUST found out today in Church (via Facebook notification through a friend), actually-that my friend Brandon was killed in a car accident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Jan. 18th and I had NO idea whatsoever! I will miss Brandon. I did not know him that well, but we did go to school together and I will miss him. He is with Heavenly Father now and I know that he is in good hands. I Love you Brandon! You will be deeply missed by a lot of family and friends!! Brandon was a very nice and down to Earth person! I am really still in shock and I am just numb-don't know what to think right now!

"Ghosts of GF Past" and I Was TRICKED Into Seeing....

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE!!! That's right, tricked! My friend, Walter said that he wanted to see this movie but NOT on Opening weekend because there will be crowds of people and he asked me, since I am a huge movie buff, what movie shall we go and see and I told him that no matter what we see, I have more than likely seen it already and there are certain films that I have seen and that I would rather NOT see again and there were: "Observe and Report"; "Knowing"; "Crank 2: High Voltage"; definitely not "Hannah Montana: The Movie"; and "Monsters v. Aliens" and "Earth!" I was open to n e other movie and he offered to buy the tickets. So, he never texted or called me back and only asked me to meet him at the show for 7:45, I did and X-Men was at the top of the ticket stub! I was in awe! And he said that movie was not on my list! Lol! I told him that he is my friend and he already knows I do not like X-Men movies! We saw and I actually stayed awake and I like it-there were a few funny moments in the movie and New Orleans was in it as well.

"Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past" I saw on my own and I loved it! It was a great film! Too many movies are being portrayed as men being "players" and having multiple girlfriends...I mean in a way-it is good because it can remind people that there are people like that in the world and will not change; while there is still hope for the others. U can learn a lot from movies if you PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAILS!!

Hot & Seductive Movie: "Obsessed" (Starring Beyonce)-A Must See Film!!

This has been the hottest new movie that I have been dying to see ever since I first saw the movie preview for it 2 months ago. Every time I turned the TV on, or I am NOT paying n e attention whatsoever to what is on the TV-a commercial/advertisement for this movie comes on. This movie has made so many headlines in the media, it is not even funny! They have been showing this movie on TV like 20 times a DAY AND when I saw this movie tonight-man it was packed to the MAX! There were no EMPTY seats do you hear me?? People were sitting on the stairs and leaning up against the wall to watch it! This movie was sold out they movie theatre had to make more times for it to show past midnight!!! This was a really good movie! Beyonce does have a flare for acting-singing too....no wonder she was in Dreamgirls, huh? I loved this movie form START to FINISH!

"State of Play" Movie Premiere!!

I was so tricked yet again by Hollywood/New York filmmakers. The trailer to this movie was so freaking good in December and when I saw the movie tonight-I WAS disappointed as all hell! I kept wanting to fall asleep. I mean, why do people do this? This movie had an all-star cast and I was let down! Freak! It was 2 hours long and was not very informative nor entertaining. I heard people yawning and texting-even though people text when a movie is good! I loved the cast, but the movie was not all that great! From now on-I may stop looking at previews and find something else to go on to determine if the movie will be a success or a freakin' flop!

The Economy Sucks...But The Roosevelt Hotel Does Not Because.......

It is opening up after being trashed and completely remodeled after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, this hotel in New Orleans is about to re-open its doors in June 2009 and they are hiring for every single position known to man and Waldorf-Astoria bought this hotel a few years ago. This is a very exclusive hotel and is very expensive. Singers and everyone in the old days use to come to this hotel. It is very elegant and sophisticated and I am so glad that I will have the honor and pleasure of working here if I pass the job interview this week coming up! I have been so persistent and calling and applying for 5 different positions every day! All my hard work paid off. I have taking hospitality and tourism classes in college and now that I have my Bachelor's degree and a minor in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration-I feel that I am ready to take this position thatnthey offer me IF the price is right. Why take a job for minimum wage when everything in the world now is at the MAXIMUM, huh?? I wonder.....

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter 2009 to everyone! Well, today I went to Church and then I went home and ate, then played on the computer for a few hours then headed to Clearview Mall and saw a movie, "I Love You, Man!" That was a really good lil movie! The stores in the mall were closed and the few stores that were open were closing just as I arrived there. The food court was open though! But I had already ate. I got a few Happy Easter text messages from friends! My good friend, Shawniece called me up and wanted to know what plans I had and to wish me a Happy Easter! I went to a BBQ on Saturday and I guess that counted as the Family gathering, but hardly n e family showed up :(

That was my Easter!

The Nerve of Some People!

Have you ever met a person who just smiles in front of ur face and talks bad about u behind ur back? I hate people like that...I cannot stand them! I just found out today something like that! Too bad it has to take people leading u on, playing u and using u in order to understand that they were never ur damn friend to begin with! How can people do sumthing like that. They take ur kindness for weakness and just exploit it! Ugh! Revenge is an ugly thing and these people that behave in this manner will get it back and I am around to see it because from what I heard today and the things that were said about me and knowing all what I id I did out of the kindness of my heart! Whew!!

General Conference-April 2009!!!

This General Conference was good! But the thing that strikes me as odd is y do so many Church members come to the Chruch to see it on TV and fall completely asleep on it??? I don't get that! I mean it is the prophets speaking? Am I the only person who feels this way? I loved the Priesthood session because it made me realize that we take for granted the power of the Preisthood. I took into account President Monson's talk on how the boy ate the egg salad because he was hungry and two other totally inexperienced boys just went up to him and gave him a blessing! I really need to exercise the Priesthood, but that is so hard for me to do when I have no one to use It on-at times I do not feel worthy to use it-even though that is a personal observation. All in all, I missed one session, but I caught the rest all online!

Transfer Mid-Day and All Day Madness!!!

This is me and Elder Bare (far right); and Elder Jensen (far left)

This is Elder Amacher!I miss this crazy kid like crazy!

This is me and Elder Bare!!! I miss him so much!!

This is me and Elder Horner! I miss him too so much!!!

I was scrambling all day-back and forward from the Eastbank to the Westbank to see all the missionaries that were getting transferred to new areas. I was driving the Elders on the Eastbank whom live in Kenner all over to varied thrift stores to look for polyester ties! After all that ripping and running that we did-we stopped off at Cane's and got some grub. In these pics that you see-these are the Elders that left me and I will miss them so very much! They were cool and I know that they have to leave my area eventually, but when the Mission President transfers them and they have only been here for 6 weeks while others have been in areas for 8 months, I question that! Why? Why man? Why? Freak! Oh, yes-it sux because I make fast connections and friendships with them and that makes it even harder to leave them and say our goodbyes. Thank goodness for the pics and fun times, and videos that I have on my computer that I can look at from time to time to make me laugh or cry or whatever! I love them all!

I now, truly believe in the saying: "You never know how much you miss a person until their gone!" I really do miss these guys so much! I have been blessed to have such wonderful people in my life! Lasting friendships is something that I will cherish for eternity!!! The thing that just makes it hard for me is that these missionaries are people whom I can call "real friends!" Why can't people like that exist here in Louisiana? It's sad, but so so so true!

Oh, yes-there was an Edler Skidmore that use to serve on the Westbank and now he is back, not near me, but I get to talk to him again only over the phoen because I am not driving out to Houma, La. 2 see him! Too long of a drive-but losing 3 and gaining one is still good!
