Stake Pool/Picnic Party

It was great seeing some of my old Westbank friends and catching up with some of the old missionaries whom served around me-I did not eat n e ting but chocolate and sweets and there was the game where if u find 10 different people who fit the description of what they were looking for-they would win a prize...there was a volleyball game, a tug of war, etc. tennis playing and swimming!! It was fun!

Drag Me to Hell Movie Premiere!!!

I've been looking and looking for a movie that will keep up to the genre that it holds of "Thriller" and it was this movie! The last movie to do that was "Dead Silence!" This movie was so good!! I swear! It is scary and some of the images were brutal and just flat out ridiculous and they eve had a little bit of comedy mixed in as well! I felt that it cold have been a little bit better-but o well, eh? Whew! I loved it! I really loved it! It was so dang on good! I cannot wait to see it again! I will pay to see it again! And seeing and hearing everyone scream was priceless! That is another reason I love scary movies so much-to see how crazy and scared people can get over the simplest things/scenes!!

"Night @ The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" vs. "Terminator Salvation"

Well, let's see on Friday-I was really excited to see "Terminator Salvation" becuz I am a huge Terminator fan, but last night-I was sadly disappointed. It was just like a dry war in 2018-I mean, I should have known that it would suck because it was not advertising on TV like Obsessed, Night at the Museum, Angels and Demons or n e other hot film!Terminator Salvation was not good at all. I just think that it had a sucky cast. The only people that are all-star or established a name for t themselves are Common, the rapper and Christian Bale...The guy who played Kyle Reese was in Alpha Dog, but besides that-it was sucky and I wanted my $$ back!! :(
As far as seeing, "Night at The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian-IMAX" IT WAS GREAT! SUPER! LOVED IT SO MUCH! I think, seriously that it was better than that of the first one! Really! A family would enjoy this-you should have heard all the little kids screaming and talking back to the movie when the people/exhibits came to life!Seeing this movie in IMAX was cool because the picture quality was better, the sound was louder than I am use to and the screen was COLOSSAL! I really enjoyed myself!

Job Hunt Within The Roosevelt Hotel In Itself!

I have applied to SEVERAL and I do mean several positions at this Hotel and today I found out that the Room Blocking Coordinator position will NOT be filled until September. Why? I have no idea whatsoever-it is just plain dumb and stupid to me. Y take the time to interview I have no idea how many different people applied for that one position And NOT tell them that u are not hiring for that position until September. WTF? I asked Katie when I would hear if I got the position or not and she told me that I would hear something from her by early next week and so I called them today because I need and want a job so BAD right now! That is when I got the shocking discovery! So, next I called Ms. Anita, and this woman is REALLY trying and trying to do everything in her power to find me a POSITION because she knows how passionate I am about working at this hotel and how badly I deserve a chance! So, who knows what the future has in store for me at this hotel, but Katie will see if there is a position within Guest Services that I can fulfill, and depending on what it is I will r will NOT take it! Yes, I have a Bachelor's degree and if they want me to do laundry AND be a Bellman with a 4 year degree- adios Roosevelt because I am NOT going to do it! Screw that! All my hard work will go TOWARDS something valuable and not washing clothes or stupid crap! NO WAY!

....and Kurtis Calls Me As He Promised!....

I was so totally taken by surprise when ex-Elder Skidmore (yellow shirt on the right of me) called me tonight and wanted to talk......I never imagined that he would keep his word and call me when he has only been home one day! I was NOT impressed, but speechless because so many missionaries tell me they will keep n touch, but once they are home-it is another story! So I thank Heavenly Father for allowing me to meet Kurtis Skidmore and placing him in my life as a friend who can prove themselves worthy of my friendship! I love that!

P.S. The other guy on the left of me is my friend too, Austen and he is getting hitched on May 30th!! Go Austen!!

My Interview @ The Roosevelt Hotel Today...

I went there to sell myself and dress to impress for sure! There were people there who TOTALLY ignored the dress code that they were asking for. The first lady that pre-screened me said that I was charming and I said all the right things and was very impressed with me when I talked to her about up selling and generating revenue for the hotel. The final and second interview that I had with Katie went ok. It was kind of awkward because I did not want to say the wrong thing or look nervous, but it could not be helped at all. I was nervous. Very nervous! But I was myself and I answered all of her questions as best as I could and even Ms. Anita-the lady who I had been talking to for months now put a post-it sticker on my file and it read that I have been calling every week about the job at the hotel, and I am very enthusiastic, etc. Maybe all that will help me to get the position and I really do want it badly!!

Adios to ex-Elder Kurtis Skidmore!!

Elder Skidmore (to the left of me in gray jacket) drove down from Houma, Louisiana to the Westbank to see me and a few other people when he served his mission here a few months ago and on Thursday-he goes back home to Mudlake, Idaho. As soon as I saw him, I wanted to go up to him and hug him tight, but he had a cast on his right arm, so I had to be gentle! I signed his cast too BTW!

We talked and caught up and talked about the good old days and he said that he wanted to take a ride in my car for old times sake, just one more time so we just drove around and had fun. I showed him my pictures from when I went to The Big Apple this January and he loved the pics. At 4:30ish-I had to leave him and go get my haircut because tomorrow I have an job interview and I wanted to look very professional and my absolute best!

When I was done, I met up with hm and a few other Elders at Wendy's and got some grub and talked there for about 20 minutes then we headed back to the Church and then he went on his own to see a family he worked with then I went someplace for an hour then we met back up at the Church and then I drove him to the Nike Factory Store and it was closed so then I drove him Downtown New Orleans and showed him the Hotel I could b working at if I get the job and we stopped by the Superdome and took pics and listened to music the entire time! It was so great! I will reflect on today for the rest of my life! I had a good time with him and I will miss him!

Renovation & History of The Significant Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans: MY JOB?!?! Will Find Out Tuesday, May 13th, 2009!!

I am so excited to be honored enough to just get an interview with this hotel! I cannot stop thinking abut what an honor it will be to work at the same hotel that serves the guests of New Orleans. This hotel is just the classiest and elegant hotel I have ever seen or heard about. I had NO idea how significant this hotel is and to be a part of the famous Waldorf-Astoria Collection just makes the legend of this place grow. They have been renovating this hotel for the last few years and I cannot wait to WALK in there if I get the position. I am speechless just looking at the pics! Imagine how I will be to go in there and work for a hotel that has so much history! AWESOME history!
The Roosevelt Hotel is restoring the entire hotel since it has been closed due to Hurricane Katrina.

Few More Days Til My Interview!

I simply cannot stop driving by The Roosevelt Hotel and just daydreaming about me actually working there! I have been looking, and re-looking, and re-looking at the website and trying to memorize facts/statistics about the hotel so that I can impress the management team next Wednesday when I go in for my interview! I will just b so glad when May 13th gets here so I can stop thinking about it! I just want to know that the job is going to be mine! I cannot stop thinking about it-no matter what I do-I THINK about it! It is killing me all this waiting!

Rest In Peace Brandon Kling!! My Friend!

I JUST found out today in Church (via Facebook notification through a friend), actually-that my friend Brandon was killed in a car accident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Jan. 18th and I had NO idea whatsoever! I will miss Brandon. I did not know him that well, but we did go to school together and I will miss him. He is with Heavenly Father now and I know that he is in good hands. I Love you Brandon! You will be deeply missed by a lot of family and friends!! Brandon was a very nice and down to Earth person! I am really still in shock and I am just numb-don't know what to think right now!

"Ghosts of GF Past" and I Was TRICKED Into Seeing....

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE!!! That's right, tricked! My friend, Walter said that he wanted to see this movie but NOT on Opening weekend because there will be crowds of people and he asked me, since I am a huge movie buff, what movie shall we go and see and I told him that no matter what we see, I have more than likely seen it already and there are certain films that I have seen and that I would rather NOT see again and there were: "Observe and Report"; "Knowing"; "Crank 2: High Voltage"; definitely not "Hannah Montana: The Movie"; and "Monsters v. Aliens" and "Earth!" I was open to n e other movie and he offered to buy the tickets. So, he never texted or called me back and only asked me to meet him at the show for 7:45, I did and X-Men was at the top of the ticket stub! I was in awe! And he said that movie was not on my list! Lol! I told him that he is my friend and he already knows I do not like X-Men movies! We saw and I actually stayed awake and I like it-there were a few funny moments in the movie and New Orleans was in it as well.

"Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past" I saw on my own and I loved it! It was a great film! Too many movies are being portrayed as men being "players" and having multiple girlfriends...I mean in a way-it is good because it can remind people that there are people like that in the world and will not change; while there is still hope for the others. U can learn a lot from movies if you PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAILS!!
