Actor Edi Gathegi (Laurent from Twilight) and I....
Lauren...Tim...and I...Casino Patrons!
On the second day of filming, I was not used at all and all I did was watch TV, eat, and chill with all the other extras who were not working. When you are on a movie set, a lot of time is down time unitl the Director calls you or requests a certain number of people. I did get a picture with Edi Gathegi today when he was walking back to see. He played the Vampire Laurent on Twilight. He was cool to let me take a picture with him and asked me if I was an actor! Lol! I was like yeah if I grab me a speaking part, I am! Lol! All in all I still got paid for just chillen and being there, so it was not so bad.
Actress Jennifer Finnigan and Me, and Actor Ben Lawson! Nice peeps!
Me and Natalie (extras)
Working on "Wild Card" (a new TV Pilot on USA) was quite the fun experience. We filmed in a casino; a REAL casino, not a fake set-up casino and it looked so much like Las Vegas, well the section that we were filming in. I filmed for two days in a row & on the first day it was cool atmosphere! Had people dancing, a bar, a DJ set up, people playing blackjack and such-it was really cool. The only actors that I saw & met were Ben Lawson from No Strings Attached, Jennifer Finnigan from Bold and the Beautiful, and Edi Gathegi from Twilight who played Laurent in the first two Twilight films. On the first day that I was there filming, I managed to get a picture with Jen and Ben both and I was in the middle. It was AWESOME! Jen was tweeting me on Twitter and that was cool and she said that she would be looking for me on set since we use Twitter and I think that it is awesome when celebs tweet me back esp. Ones that I meet on the set like I did with Jennifer. She was so very welcoming to me and asking me what my name was and I asked her if I was going to get in trouble and she said no because pictures with celebs get to be cool, but then posting them on websites all over the internet is bad, but I cannot pass up an opportunity to get a picture with an actor or actress-not me, I love movies way to much!
I thought that this movie was mildly entertaining. It could have been rated Pg-13 rather than R. This was like watching Twilight or Scream all over again because it was centered around the teenage generation and it had very mild humorous portions through the film. Colin Ferrell played a good vampire and he had the killer looks & instincts. I'll give him that much! I did NOT see it in 3D because I was afraid that I would not see any visual 3D effects and I did see what would have been in 3D in the film and it was minimal as I expected ti to be. The storyline was very average and the color/photography of the film was very impressive! I loved that the most about it! All in all, I enjoyed this little thriller/suspense film. Glad I paid $5 to see it rather than $10 or higher, I feel like I paid the correct price to see this film and I feel good about it! It is a lil movie to sit and watch on a dark and rainy night because of the anticipation of what could or could not happen and it was driving me crazy and I was like, "who is gonna get killed off next?" Lol!
Comparable to The Mist, Drag Me 2 Hell, & the Amityville Horror! All three of these movies have 1 thing in common with this film-the invisible horrifying creature that shows itself towards the middle of the film! I was so pissed off! All the ratings for this film were good & it ranked third place Opening Weekend, but this movie was NOT scary, it was NOT good, it is NOT worth seeing unless you are seeing it for free! Sure, it had a good storyline & the little creatures were disgusting & scary at first-but after that; this was your typical scary movie! I did NOT jump or flinch not once-this was a low budget film that should have gone straight to DVD & I hope that a sequel is NOT made because of what Katie Holmes said @ the very end! Listen carefully!!
I thought this movie was superb! Right on the $$$$! Zoe really handled those weapons! The scene in the bathroom where she was fighting Marco could have been more realistic looking....Zoe had that killer look & instinct-loved how she was sassy & elegant with every kill! This movie reminded me of Wanted or Bourne Identity because the killings were planned & executed well in the two movies I just compared this one too! I hope a sequel is made; there are those moments where an actor in any film may look a certain way or say something that may trigger a laugh from the audience & there were a few of those in this movie! I loved that! The girl who played Young Cataleya really was moving & jumping & running from those men like a pro! Wonder how long she had to train in order to do that? Great film! Could have had bigger actors in it, but then again, the film was centered around Zoe avenging her parents' deaths....
I'm a club member of Channing Tatum Unwrapped's official website and Fan Club and they do this contest ONCE a year to see who is Chan and Jenna's biggest fan all over the World and I just submitted my entry! I think that my responses stand out and I may have a good shot at winning-if not, all of what I said was still true and I loved the challenge to submit! I do love Channing and Jenna! They are two great actors and Step Up is my favorite movie of all time! I still, until today, ever since I had the opportunity to meet Channing Tatum in April of this year, I still have flashback to actually looking him in the face and wishing him a Happy Birthday and talking to him! It is so surreal to see celebs face-to-face! I just get so speechless and HAVE NO IDEA at all as to what to say to them because I am in shock that I am seeing them in front of me! Lol! But, I hope I win the contest and if I do not, like I said, I did it because I am a fan of theirs and I always will be!
I was waiting to film basically all day, and I was not used until 7:30 in the evening and I had been there from 8AM! I did not mind that at all, because just getting glimpse of the actors gives me all the motivation that I need to push forward. I got to see Zac Efron and he was across the street and I waved to him and he waved back at me and he almost tripped and fell down! I made a joke and said that he is "falling" for me! LOL! That was my contact with him. Nicole Kidman, I saw her as she walked past me going into the set & I told her that I loved her and my all time favorite movie that she was in was "Bewitched" and she said, in her accent that she can't do the thing with her nose any more! That was too adorable! I wanted to get a picture with her, but the timing was never professional or right, but at least she smiled and chatted to me for a couple seconds and I got some words out to her. I did tell her everything that I wanted to say, but I feel the contact that we had was cool! Lastly, was Matthew McConaughey-he actually WALKED OVER ACROSS THE STRRET TO Extras Holding and was taking group pictures with all the extras! I was sooo totally impressed with him doing that. He was so friendly and he took a picture with me, I told him all the movies that I loved him in and he said thank you! OMG! I love the celeb life! I totally do! The scene that I filmed was a bar patron with Faizon Love, Nicole Kidman, and Zac Efron and this movie is set in the 1960's and I cannot wait for you to see it! It is so great how they had everyone all dressed up from that era!!!
Today was just a quick scene as a CSI Agent and there was blood and a killing spree going on! It was wild and very very gruesome and intense! Today was my first day filming in a real studio. It was really very exciting. Christian Slater dropped but, but did not film and I got to see and meet and talk to Jason Momoa and Sarah Shahi-they were both very cool and got my picture with Jason, but cannot post it as of now. Sorry guys! :(
Well, this weekend was a blast, truly it was. I got to work closely with Actors John Corbett and Gary Cole in this film. I play the role of a bailiff and I think I played it well. John Corbett is known in the Sex and the City role as Aidan Shaw and he is so down to Earth and so friendly! I feel like he was my own father on set. Words just cannot explain how down to Earth he is. I love him to death now! The weekend was filmed with lies and crimes going on in the movie. I loved being in a real courtroom. It was so unreal to see a trial actually happen in front of my face tho! Ah! I was seen on camera a lot on Saturday, but not as much on Sunday, though. I had to wear a bullet proof vest and everything and it was hot as hell in all that. I was sweating like crazy, you have no idea! But I loved the experience and I hated leaving John. I dunno y, but I am stuck on him now-most likely because I have never met an Actor as nice as him in my life-ever!
I've NEVER been to this movie theater in Downtown NOLA ever, but is was quite the experience! My friend, Theresa, who I went with tonight WARNED me that I was going to fall in love with this place and she was dead on the money! It reminded me of when I saw a movie in NYC on Fifth Ave. It is clean as hell, it only has 4 screens and they have ushers that personally escort you to your seats and you have to choose your seat before you go into the theater, the screen fits only a select number of people and there is not racket, loud kids, cell phones going off-it was gran! They have menus and they have food being served to you, champagne, the works! It is really a luxury to go there! It was exquisite! An movie experience unlike I have ever had-the customer service was great! I am still thinking about it! Here is what I thought of the film: I'm dumbfounded @ the effect that this movie has had on me. There was ONE thing that was unclear to me, WHY did the WHITE characters hire BLACK maids, but did not want the maids to have equal rights as them & keep them segregated??? Minnie was a trip in this movie; esp. her "secret ingredient" in her pie! LMAO! Once u find out what it is-your eyes will turn blood red from the laughter!!! I did not read the book about this movie, but if the movie was this deep, intense, & inspiring-I know the book had to be as well! Emma Stone portrayed her character beautifully, but Viola Davis & Octavia Spencer captured the screen since the film zeroed in on THEIR experiences & Stone had to write about them. Some parts offended me because this movie showed how it use to be in that era. Racism still exists in the world today, but it is not as bad as it was in the '50's & earlier/later. I can truly appreciate & respect films like this because they are trying to relay a crucial message to the audience-and that message is one word: CHANGE! Make a difference & let your voice be heard on any topic that you feel passionate about & want to change for the better! As Aibileen says, "You is special, you is smart, & you is needed!"
It took 125 Firefighters 7 hours to calm this down!
There was a very horrific event that happened on Sunday Night @ my apartment complex. A building caught on fire and I found out on Monday what the cause was-it was a man who was cooking on a high temperature & he left the food unattended. I had NEVER EVER in my entire life seen a fire of this magnitude! There were displaced people all over, crying, and yelling, a few injuries and none were life threatening, thank goodness fro that. 125 firemen taking SEVEN hours to put the massive fire out was in sane! As soon as I thought that the fire was under control, I just kept on seeing more and more and more flames! People were jumping from the second and third floors in order to save their lives. I am just in awe of how this came about! This was a traumatic experience! People lost all that they had including their pets because people were crying that their dogs were in there! I live in Bldg. 3 and not 1, so people who knew me were worried about me and was calling me up inquiring about it! I am glad that no one died and no small children were hurt, that just would have broke my heart!
A movie that I would have preferred to see at an Advanced Screening, personally. Individually, Jason & Ryan are terrific actors-anytime they make a comedy movie, they make me laugh! They have the talent, but Jason Bateman just cannot make great comedy movies! He is funny in this film, but he could have brought it out more extremely. Leslie Mann did a better job than Bateman in all honesty. This movie had a of female nudity scenes which most likely boosted ratings, because sex sells, but I felt that it could have been funnier. The photography was excellent & all the cast members were funny, but they could have been better. Not a lot of people laughed loudly in the theater. I smiled & chuckled a bit. It was very average & I was disappointed in it because it had the potential to be way more better, but do NOT take kids to see this movie...severe sexual nudity and explicit material in the film!
Nate & I headed to Popeyes' for dinner, I had initially found this great Cajun/Seafood joint by my house because I knew he had been craving crawfish and seafood since he has been here but we could not find the place and Nate said that it was non-existent! Lol! Had to exist because I called and talked to the lady earlier asking if they had crawfish! O well, he still loved Popeyes because they do not have a Popeyes up in Utah, so he loved it. Afterwards, we headed to the Garden District and I brought him to Actress Sandra Bullock's home that she bought in Louisiana and he took a photo by her gate as all tourists do. W saw lights on in her home, but nobody came outside. One of these days if I go there, I want to see her! I love Sandra Bullock! So much! I was explaining to him about the history of the Garden District, St. Charles Av. and the historic homes in that area and why it is called the Garden District. That is how we spent out last day together!
I thought that this movie was more gruesome than Part 4 given one tiny detail. As in the last Final Destination, the only time 3D effects were shown-was when someone died & that is exactly how this one was also! I did not mind that at all simply because it had the 3D effects throughout the entire film! There were certain parts where the anticipation kept building and building; keeping me on the edge of my seat shaking because I had no idea @ all if the person was or was not going to get into an "sticky situation" & just die! The gymnastic scene is a perfect example of what I've just said! I loved both the opening & ending credits! Glad I decided to see the Midnight Showing! I have been looking forward to this film for quite a while now...that bridge scene in the beginning of the movie was TOO INTENSE! A definite see movie! This was a really improved destination other than Part IV! I hope they continue to make these films in 3D because it makes the movie more enjoyable & realistic!!!
This was the second day that I spent with my good friend from Utah whom I have not seen in years and we ate at Popeyes and he loved it all up then we headed out to see this movie and this is what I thought of it.This was spectacular movie! I am glad that I decided to see it! Great, but I am so thankful that I did not see it in 3D because I know 4 a fact; I would have been very disappointed! It had all the action, it had all the killing, and fighting scenes, and most importantly, it kept me entertained-there was minimal humor-but it was still funny nonetheless. After the ending credits were over and we saw the trailer for the Avengers, that was pretty awesome! Spring 2012 cannot get here fast enough! The trailer was super cool and intense! The ending was pretty unpredictable, maybe people who follow this comic book icon knew the ending was going to end the way that it did, but for it, it was truly a shocker! Chris Evans & Tommy Lee Jones were great & I loved the visual effects, all the blasting, the illumination, etc! Fantastic! In conclusion, this movie was very good & I enjoyed watching it! After the movie, he drove over his old mission area that he served in over 12 years ago and it brought back good memories for him and he took photos as well and we saw the family that he baptized, The Russells!
A good and close friend of mine that I knew since 2002 and have not seen since 2003/2004, I think had come into town for work for three days and on today, I made us some Jambalaya and Fried Chicken and he LOVED it! Nate does not get Southern Cooking in Salt Lake City so he thought my cooking was great-as does anyone who tastes it and is surprised that I can get down in a kitchen! Lol! Afterwads, he treated us both to some desert at Cold Stone. I had never in my life been there, but I knew one existed. I had a Betsy Crocker flavor with M&M's in mine and he had some sort of pie/cake thing! After we finished up our desert, I suggested that he hit Downtown New Orleans and The French Quarter. Nate wanted to go to the French Market, but it was closed and so was the Riverwalk. I suggested a ferry ride, but it was 7:50 in the evening and we did not want to risk getting on the ferry to Algiers and not being able to come back over to New Orleans so we did NOT do that. We sat by the fountain and talked about the good old days and then we walked down the infamous Canal Street and then we went on the Bad Bourbon Street and Nate did very very well. They had all types of people suggesting that we go into a club that has tits, drunk people all outside of clubs and bars. Any and every time I go on Bourbon Str. I feel the same way: scared and sick to my damn stomach. Th people and the things that you see on that ON particular street sickens me and I LOATHE going there, but no matter who comes into town and they have HEARD of Bourbon Street, they want to go there. I give the same speech at the start of the street asking them if they are certain they want to make the journey-then when they see what I told them they will see, they want to turn back around! After the walk halfway down Bourbon Street-we headed back to the car and this couple stopped us and begged us to give them some money for a hotel and this long story that I did not care to even listen to, to be honest with you-that is another reason I hate down in that area, if you are in a dark alley and not where a lot of people are (not saying innocent people will help u if attacked), you can find yourself in a violent predicament and I do not go into areas and situations like that because these people are drunk and you have no idea what they are capable of doing! All in all, today was great because I got to see a longtime friend and we did not get injured or attacked...
