Stake Center Fireside w/Brady!

I met up with my Orem, Utah ex-missionary amigo Brady today at the New Orleans Stake Center in Metairie, La. for a fireside that was BEING held by the Uof Utah football team and their coaches because they are down here for the Sugar Bowl this week! It was great to see Brady again even though I saw him for a few weeks this Summer while I was in Utah. He took a pic of us in his cell phone and I did not bring my camera so I have no pic to post for this event. I was sorry that I did not get to see his son, Brax and wife, Rachel...but there is still time......

"Cadillac Records" Premiere For Me!

Tonight I celebrated being released from the Doctor's care by going out and seeing the new movie that hit theatres last week, "Cadillac Records!" This was a graet movie. I was brought up on the blues era, Etta James, Muddy Waters, and all the jazz musicians. This was the only kind of music htat my parents use to listen to and it has stayed in me. Beyonce did a great job singing all of Etta James's songs. This movie was based on a true story!

....And It Snows.......

in New Orelans, Louisiana!! When my niece called me and left a message on my voicemail this morning an told me that it was snowing in Louisiana-I did not know what to think because the last time in snowed in NOLA was in 2004! I turned the TV to The Weather Channel and there it was for sure, snow flurries/snow (heavy and thick) in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, etc. I logged onto Facebook and all my friend's statuses were all referring to the snow and some even posted videos and photos of them in it! Truly amazing! Wish that I could have been there! Good thing I am in snow every year I go to Utah! That is REAL snow, none the less-December 11th is a day to remember!

First Presidency Christmas Devotional Program

I only wish that I could have been there in Salt Lake City live for the program. I loved the program even though all I got to do was listen to it on my laptop computer. I wish I could have went to the Church to see the program, but I was limited to where I could go. All in all, it was a great program and I love love love Christmas time and the holidays!

Baby #2 for Brady & Rachel!

These good friends of mine informed me months ago that they are having another child. They already have a name for her. It will be Madison! Congrats Rach and Brady!

Busy Life!!

I have not blogged in a while cuz I have been busy with school and I have been feeling a little sick! But I am or was glad to hear that my friends are expecting babies! They are truly a gift from God and I know that they will be great parents to their children! Congrats to Rachel and Brady; Lisa and Zach; and Taylor and Crystal!

General Confrence-Saturday Session I

I have been feeling very ill these last few days sufffering and trying to recover from a very nasty stoamch virus, but I am feeling a lot better now!! I am very thankful to my Heavenly Father for bringing me back to a sustainable and healthly way of life again! ;)

Well, when I went to General Confrence this morning my head and stomach was hurting me- these General Confrences are so long it is easy to fall asleep, but I prevailed! THe Confrence was wonderful and the best speaker out of them all that spoke to us was Sister Alfred. Her testimony really made an impact on my life! I loved it!

I loved that a temple was going to be built in Rome, Italy! That is wonderful!

My Hooper, Utah Weekend '08

Everytime I visit Utah, my home base is The Bybee's in Orem-but I have to have a weekend trip to Hooper, Utah because being there is like being home because it is a small country town and that is kinda how I grew up as a child in a small town called Belle Chasse. These are just some random shots that I took while I was there Summer '08. Good times! I love going to Monte Cristo and playing in the snow! I always say that I want to see snow but once I see it and put my hands it it and feel how FREEZING COLD it is----I do not want to play in it any longer... How backwards is that, huh?!?!?!

Introducing Lance Adams: A 100% True Friend!!

I have MANY photos of Lance and I's trip to Vegas but I just posted these two because I like um a lot. When I saw the movie, "What Happens In Vegas" or any type of film that features Vegas I will forever get flashbacks of going there. I went to Treasure Island and saw the scenery where Ms. Congeniality 2 was shot! It was amazing! I am still thinking Lance til this day for bringing me out there!

This here is mah girl Tanya. T for short--she is a huge movie buff like me and we are in my car on our way home and I know what movie we just got out of...it was "Mirrors." I wish when I was getting dressed for movie, in my mirror instead of the reflection, I wish a film critic would have told me how dumb and wack it was going to be because we BOTH hated it and demanded a refund!

My Graduation Day From The Univ. of New Orleans

I graduated form the University of New Orleans on Friday, May 16th with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology (Liberal Arts) and a minor in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration 'BKA' HRT. My last term (Spring/2008) was a beast! I managed to pull off a "A" in International Tourism, a "C" in Social Change, a "B" in Intermediate Spanish I, and a "B" in Sociological Theory! I am so proud of myself. I endured and never gave up no matter how frustrated I was. I was so determined to graduate from College--not to make others proud of me, I did it for me and ME alone! I strive every day to be a better person, to get better educated. No one forced me to go to school, I CHOSE to go because I wanted a better life for myself. I did not want an underpaying job, I wanted a job that suites my needs and my lifestyle. I did NOT want to surrender just because it got tough. There were MANY times I wanted to give up and I never did. No matter if it was rain, a hurricane, or whatever....I was at school unless it was cancelled and I did it ALL on the BUS! For over 4 years, I went to school on a bus waking up at 5 AM to be to school for an 8AM class-I call that determination and now that I have graduated, I can proudly say that I have earned the car that I have now which is a 2000 Lincoln Luxury Sedan!

Introducing Brady and Rachel Bybee

These two people are are Brady & Rachel Bybee!! These are 2 very AMAZING people that I have been knowing going on 4 years now. I have been knowing Brady longer though because he served his mission in Louisiana and that is where I met him, but I have grown to admire and respect his intelligent and strong-willed wife, Rachel. Rachel can cut some hair and I hope one day she can open up her own salon and make it big! As far as Brady, I hope he can have his own business because he loves math, finances, crunching numbers, etc. Not me! I hate numbers and mathematics! Knowing them has given me great joy and I love and respect them dearly....there is nothing that I would not do for them if I was asked! It is a big blessing to me having them as close friends! N e time they visited Louisiana, Brady and Rachel would try to find ways to see me. They are very compassionate people!
